So exciting news!! AJ and I had our 20 week doctor's
appointment yesterday. We were getting new ultrasounds
and finally going to find out if we were having a boy or girl.
Dr. O'Neill starts to show us the baby's head, it's spine,
the legs...then "hhhhmmmm", followed by complete
silence! She continues to look around, then turns to ask if
we knew we were having TWINS! Uh...that would be a no.
Needless to say, we were in shock. So far they both look
like girls. We have an appointment Friday with a prenatal
specialist to get more details. Wish us luck!

Our babies...
January 3, 2006
Happy New Year everyone! We had a very eventful holiday.
Our doctor's appointment on the 23rd confirmed that we
were having identical twin girls. Identical twins don't run in
either of our families so they're our little miracles.
We also found out that the babies wanted to come early.
20 weeks is too early however, so we had an emergency
cerclage that afternoon. We came home Christmas Eve
and the surgery went much better than the doctor had
expected. Tammy's now on bed rest until they arrive.
Unfortunately, another complication we're facing is
twin-twin transfusion. Due to the previous surgery and
how early we are in the pregnancy, doctors recommend
holding off on any treatment procedures for now. We're
monitoring them closely for any changes. Now, they're
extremely active and we already see them hitting and
kicking each other during every sonogram!

Well, it's been a little while since our last update! The girls arrived much earlier
than expected and life has been crazy ever since.
They were born February 19th at 29 weeks. Aaliyah Jade Onalfo arrived at 9:54
pm weighing 2 pounds 12 ounces and 14.5 inches long. Aria Angel Onalfo came
shortly after at 9:57 pm weighing 2 pounds 2 ounces and 14 inches long.
After 6 weeks in the O'Connor Hospital NICU, they came home on April 2nd. Both
girls are doing amazingly well and teaching us to realize we know nothing. They're
our little miracles and we thank God everyday.
